There are some things that should not go together either because they are diametrically opposed or there is something you see as non-compatible. I have said these words in a sentence and lived to be proved completely wrong.

Yet again I am completely wrong.

The concept of putting Italian and Asian together is chalk and Cheese and with ITO and Grana you need a chef that has vision, delicacy and imagination.

Alex Wong comes with spades of all three.

As soon as you walk into building it is an experience, the building is sandstone and holds a promise of something special, walk out of the elevator and around the corner and you find yourself in an incredible space. The tables are amazing as is the archway you walk through old
brickwork becomes the feature into a space open and impressive.

Food has to be incredible to live up to the expectation sub-consciously implanted by the building.

And it is.

We normally go in a pair or four of us as we can get a feel of the restaurant, share dishes, and generally get some insight into each dish. I would like to say this is to help people who read our blogs but really it is completely selfish.

No one would share their food we all felt it could not get better I secured a mussel in exchange for one of my scallop’s and I was loath to relinquish that.

Scallops to die for amazing the same applies to the mussels but scallops wins by a short head in my opinion.

Radiatori – again beyond expectation and just amazing
Snapper my third choice- the second-best fish I have ever had, first at the promenade in Bondi, again it was a different type of fish so you can’t really compare although I just did.

Every bite was just amazing, I understand why this is a one hatted restaurant but should be two if truth be known.

Food flawless, the brutality of Italian food is not here it is refined, and delicate imagination shown in each dish is beyond belief. Every mouthful a delight.

I would normally pick my own wine but in this instance, I left it to the sommelier, and he was awesome the food and wine combination worked exceptionally well. There are moments you should shut up and let someone else make the decision it has taken me a long time to get to this point, but I did not say I was a fast learner.

Food is exceptional, but the experience of going to a restaurant is not only about the food, it is an experience, a combination of great service, great food and a vibe or an underlying culture made up of pride, personality, intelligence, and training.

These all must be part of the mix to have an exceptional experience and leave you wanting to go back.

I have said this before and mean it, service is a pivotal to the experience. Service was perfect, I knew they were there, I spoke to the staff as you should recognise the people trying to ensure your experience is as good as possible. Perfect is a word I do not use regularly, everything was perfect.

There are places you should go to experience something unique; this is one of them. We have booked the restaurant again and if the next visit is as good as this one, I will be in bliss.
