01 Feb Easy Tiger

Recently we went to the Promenade on Bondi Beach, this is a delight and wonderful to just look out onto Bondi Beach and enjoy the moment. Food excellent and service seamless and superb.

We have been to another restaurant in Bondi, there are a number of good restaurants in Bondi, there are few spectacular restaurants in Bondi it is a place where casual reigns supreme.

After all great quality and service are probably not what the usual punter in Bondi beach is looking for. I prefer to go to restaurants and cafes that are unique but also offer excellence weather it be in the food or some unique component which means it stand out.

There are many good restaurants there are a large number of reasonable restaurants and there are very few great restaurants. We dine out a fair bit and unfortunately, we have experienced some mediocre places and we will deliver some of these later in the year but very few fantastic restaurants. So, we did not expect to find one of these in Bondi outside of the Promenade.

Easy Tiger is without a doubt a hidden gem, the best value restaurant we have ever been to. The food is superb, I do not know how they have located themselves on Campbell Parade if this where in the city it would be overrun by obnoxious people telling how they have managed to recreate the unique offering Easy Tiger is. People would have swamped the place.

Easy Tiger has located itself in the old Pacific building on the corner of Campbell Parade and Beach Road.

Food and service are magnificent, I do not use these words lightly, I was amazed. The menu is diverse and imaginative. The restaurant is light and airy and has a brewery in one corner.

I had tuna crackles and my wife Cha ca kingfish we shared a duck roll.

I expected average considering the price and location. I was amazed, the food was excellent every mouthful a delight, I thought this is a fluke and surely the rest of our order could not retain the same quality.

I was wrong.

I had the sizzling lamb, my wife the yellow curry barramundi.

Both exquisite, the fish melts, it is easy to make the curry overpowering, so it no longer enhances but becomes dominant especially with fish. It was perfect.

The sizzling lamb soft and tender, it fell apart, and the taste just lingered in your mouth again just superb.

We were both full, I was determined after what we had just had to return so we did last week.

The standout Salt and pepper pork everything is diverse, unique and delicious.

Service was a reflection of the food and superb. The only negative was I drove hence had to restrict my beer intake. I normally drink wine but will stray onto the dark side every now and again, if beers were like this everywhere I would convert to beer it is delicious.

On both occasions the whole experience was fantastic. It is a shame we don’t live closer to Bondi Beach

Easy Tiger is amazing, I do wish it were closer, but we would be some of the only people that go to Bondi to eat but are always amazed at the standouts and their level of excellence.
